Partnering with MOTAT, Māori advisors, and artists, we created Te Kōtiu, an immersive projection experience through Aotearoa's aviation history, from the epic 12000km Kuaka migration to legends like George Bolt and Jean Batten.

Ecotricity
Ecotricity, known for being NZ’s cleanest and greenest electricity supplier, has partnered with our team to give their website a makeover. The outcome is a website as clean and as powerful as the electricity they supply.

New Zealand Steel
To modernise crane training and boost on-site safety, Waxeye partnered with New Zealand Steel to create a VR simulator using Meta Quest 3 and real crane controls. It replicates a crane cab, letting trainees safely build skills, practise manoeuvres, and prepare for emergencies without disrupting operations.

Skills4Work
Immersive VR is shaping the future of skills development in New Zealand. In a bold step away from traditional textbook-based training, Skills4Work commissioned Waxeye to reimagine how trainee butchers in New Zealand are educated.

Chorus
Chorus partnered with us to undertake their Field Work software migration, transforming their system into a powerful, future-proof asset that coordinates fieldwork operations nationwide.

Auckland Transport
At Waxeye, we believe in the power of technology to make the world a better place. Our curiosity led us to partner with Auckland Transport, creating five engaging VR modules that help learner drivers master road safety and navigate common hazards.

365 Training Hub
The team from 365 Training Hub needed a new digital presence that inspired people about new ways of learning.

Jesa
Which other Kiwi agency can lay claim to a dairy client in … Uganda! Exactly! Celebrating this Kiwi first, we created an animated TVC and print assets for the fruity dairy goodness of Tropical Delite. It's all about fun, adventure and transformation, as we move from the jungle through to the city and the water's edge.

Mast Academy
MAST approached Waxeye to craft a virtual reality experience to help attract and engage prospective learners, giving them an authentic glimpse into life working in the marine sector as well as the learning pathways to take them there.

NZTE
Gulfood 2020 stands as the world's largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition. New Zealand Trade & Enterprise asked us to create a mixed reality experience that would leave a lasting impression on buyers from around the globe. And it did!
ICE Skills Group
We combined scripting, visual storytelling, and educational design to create learning that sticks. The result: 10 highly technical explainer videos that help plumbing and gas fitting trainees connect complex concepts to real-world scenarios.

Mix Master Mike
Mixed Master Mike, famously known for his contribution to the Beastie Boys, is a DJ ambassador for Serato, New Zealand’s Innovative DJ hardware company.

Celebrating milestones

NZTE
Step into Aotearoa New Zealand's Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion from anywhere in the world! Our digital version mirrors the physical building, offering a unique online experience curated by the NZTE Expo team.

NZTE
New Zealand Trade & Enterprise wanted to showcase Kiwi-made agricultural technology at Fieldays. So we redesigned the mixed reality experience we developed for them at the Atlanta trade fair.

Information Leadership
Information Leadership needed a digital solution as flexible as their new product. We created modular digital identity for "iWorkplace Elements" - their innovative suite of building-block solutions designed to make work better.

Tāmaki
Tāmaki Regeneration is bringing 10,500 homes to Auckland over the next 15 years. With demand running hot, homebuyers are often buying off the plan, so we created an augmented reality app to showcase what was available, drawing inspiration from the scale models traditionally created by architects.

Hellers
Who doesn’t love a little sausage dog, especially one covered in tomato sauce? With a new line of Hellers sausages on the way, we were called on to direct, illustrate and animate a TVC that would grab the attention of time-poor parents and their hungry kids in a fun way.

Cavalier Bremworth
Cavalier Bremworth wanted to connect carpet with fashion to showcase the distinctive features of their products. We achieved this by weaving three different product stories with diverse animation styles into a captivating TVC.

NZB
New Zealand has a long history of punching above its weight when it comes to producing winning racehorses, that perfect combination of nature and nurture, a magical blend reflected in real results. Our mission was to imbue a functional VR experience with this winning attitude while pushing the boundaries of a media in its relative infancy, in a true pioneering spirit.

Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research
Dive into Karanga a Tāne Mahuta, a cutting-edge VR experience linking taitamariki to their environment. Developed in te reo Māori with English options, this award winning immersive VR project explores unique species, fostering a deep understanding of environmental impacts.

Vector
To improve driver safety training for handling LPG gas, we developed a VR simulation that offers on demand emergency training for Vector employees. The immersive experience allows drivers to gain practical experience in a safe and controlled environment.

Air New Zealand
Back in 2014, we teamed up with Air New Zealand to celebrate their 75th anniversary at Te Papa Museum in a way that was anything but ordinary.

SneakersMedia
Sneakers is a small but perfectly formed independent media agency. They provide market-leading strategy, planning and buying that focuses on a client's needs, rather than on what wins awards. It's the kind of expertise you usually get from big agencies and big budgets, but without the fluff. To demonstrate how they stack up, Sneakers needed a responsive, client-focused and editable website that reflected their experience, professionalism and personality.

TuaNZ
TUANZ is the association for the users of digital technology and connectivity. They help Kiwis make the most of the digital world. In 2021 they launched the Digital Boost Alliance, an initiative with an ambitious goal: to build a high-performing digital Aotearoa. And with a vision like that, they needed a website that showcased the usability, accessibility and simplicity of the online space. They needed to inspire NZ businesses with a clear call to action: join us.

Chorus
The Virtual Chorus Fibre Lab is a key introduction tool to the what, why, and how of fibre.

Waxeye
We're all about creativity, and that shines through in our personal projects like 'Trap' – our very first long-form animation. It was a real labor of love that took us six years to pull off, resulting in this awesome 12-minute short film.

Goodman
Goodman is a major player in commercial realty. With many property estates strategically placed close to key transport and service hubs, they approached us to create a map that clearly conveyed this strategic advantage in various media including print and video.

Chorus
Back in the day, Chorus developed a very handy tool for Kiwis to check which broadband they could get to their door. But after a while it needed a little TLC, so we stepped in to develop a new version that was faster, more user centric and customised. This upgrade has helped Chorus transition thousands of users to a fibre connection – because that’s how we internet now!

NZTE
In the perfect world, New Zealand companies would have a full-sized helicopter to demonstrate products and market themselves overseas. Alas, doing so wouldn’t exactly be cost effective or practical. So we worked alongside New Zealand Trade & Enterprise to solve this problem at the Hai Expo in Atlanta.

Anchor Export
Dow Design came to us looking for a TVC that could be rolled out across not one but 13 Pacific Island nations. Focusing on Anchor Blue as the hero product, we developed the Anchor Taste Express manned by ‘muscle packs’ complete with arms and legs. Exploring this route was a fun way to capture kids' attention while communicating the health benefits of dairy to mums and dads.

Fuse
How do you meet Santa in times of pandemic? You invite him into your home with the Santa augmented reality app from Countdown! Since 2020 was such a tough year, the supermarket giant decided to create a little joy for families and make a $5 donation to the Salvation Army for every photo shared on social media. Not to mention have some fun with family and friends along the way!

Axxon
Exsurgo use technology to improve human health. They’ve developed a device to help people living with chronic pain by monitoring brain waves and using gamification to encourage the brain activity. They needed our help to package this cutting-edge technology into an engaging and user-friendly app. Waxeye supported Exursgo with UX, Design and Unity development expertise to bring the prototype to market for a clinical trial.

NZTE
Kiwi innovation is being used to enhance the operations of armed forces right around the world, making their operations more effective and secure. To demonstrate the use of this technology at trade shows, we developed an augmented reality app for iPad featuring multiple technology-based solutions.

James Hardie
Federation came to us with the fantastical tale of a house that transforms into a protective robot clad in Linea weatherboards ... a robot ready to battle the elements in order to defend the family that lives inside. They had the script - we just had to bring it to life.

AJ Hackett
AJ Hackett wanted a virtual reality experience for The Nevis, NZ’s highest bungy jump, to help convert prospective jumpers into paying customers.

NZTE
We were approached by NZTE to create an immersive 360 VR experience and AR application to showcase New Zealand as a premium sailing and refitting destination for the uber rich and their superyachts.

Chorus
Let’s face it – many explainer videos can be as dull as dishwater. It’s the nature of the beast. But it doesn’t have to be that way, as we proved by combining different animation techniques with playful ideas for Chorus.

Hellers
Kiwis can’t get enough of snarlers in summer, so we thought we’d send them completely over the edge with a true test of their barbecuing skills. We wanted to make cooking sausages as fun and challenging as possible so we went down a stylized 3D game path with sophisticated game play that includes some quite complicated texture mapping.

Chorus
Hyperfibre is the next-generation fibre technology from Chorus that offers speeds never experienced before in New Zealand. It’s exciting stuff that demanded a new microsite to showcase its enormous potential. That’s where we came in – with a cutting-edge user experience prototype that provided the foundation for content creation, design and development.

NZTE
The UpStarters was established to form a compelling, consistent and coherent way of promoting New Zealand's tech innovation capabilities internationally. Over time, this story will help build New Zealand's reputation as a credible source of world-class solutions for all sorts of things.

RIANZ
The graphics package for the 2012 Vodafone NZ Music Awards went down so well that we couldn’t wait to start work on the ambient imagery, party visuals and graphic signposts for the next edition. Inspired by the retro-futurism of films such as Beyond the Black Rainbow and Tron, we created a sinister look that provided a fittingly ominous and epic feel to each award category. The deliverables included eight minutes of digital content and 28 minutes of animated content that took over 2,000 hours of rendering. Not to mention sound design, name keys and everything else necessary for television broadcast.

RIANZ
Everyone loves rock ‘n’ roll, so we were excited when we got a call to get involved with the VNZMAs. The brief was to create beautifully lit filmic imagery rendered in 3D for super slow motion camera moves around subjects. This enabled us to absorb the detail and discern how each video related to the specific award genre. Producing the graphics for the music awards was a large undertaking that required design and production of 26 graphic packages. But with the help of an excellent sound mix we managed to grab attention in all the right places.

Ports of Auckland
For most Aucklanders, what goes on beyond the red gates of Quay St remains a mystery. So Ports of Auckland thought they’d reveal it all with a 360 video. We created a VR video storyline that provided a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work there.

Westpac
Westpac was interested in using VR technology to experiment with different branch layout options, without having to do a physical build and asked us to help realise this idea.

Westpac
Westpac wanted to highlight certain health and safety concerns to employees, while also demonstrating what excellent customer service looked like, via 360 video. Because the project was primarily educational, the camera had to be in the first-person. We used a custom built, dual lens 360 camera to capture the footage which we then stitched together to create the final 360 footage. Now the bank has an interactive video that it can use to educate and test employees.

Westpac
When Westpac asked us to re-create a branch in VR, we decided to push realism as far as possible so that users could almost forget they were in a virtual world. We used the Oculus Rift headset to achieve the highest quality result and attached a Leap Motion sensor to the front to track the user’s hands for interaction. Then we built a number of different brand ATMs in 3D that the user could experience in different locations, for a better idea of how they would work in the real world.

Chorus
Fourteen months of Gigamania finally ended when Dunedin was declared the winner of the ultimate community prize: ultra fast broadband citywide. Designed to stir a buzz of conversation, locals won points for their town by using pre-defined #Gigatown hashtags. Every piece of hash-tagged content earned Gigapoints, and so did subsequent shares, likes, re-tweets and comments.
